Mastering Porcelain Veneers

From Case Selection to Bonding

A two-day hands-on masterclass with Dr Ambrish Roshan and Dr Michael Crilly, covering the complete clinical workflow for porcelain veneers.

From selecting and planning the right case through to preparation, provisionalisation, laboratory communication, try-in and final cementation, this course is designed to give you a structured and predictable approach to veneer dentistry.

Across two focused days, we’ll combine clinical theory, case discussions, demonstrations and hands-on training, with an emphasis on conservative dentistry, enamel preservation and techniques that can be transferred directly into everyday practice.

Course Details

Dates: Friday 13th & Saturday 14th November 2026

Venue: The Spencer Hotel, Dublin

Registration: 8:30am

Course: 9:00am – 5:30pm

Format: Two-day hands-on masterclass

Who is it for?
Dentists with an interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry who want to develop their knowledge, confidence and practical skills in porcelain veneers.

What You'll Learn

Case Selection & Treatment Planning

Understand when porcelain veneers are the right treatment and when alternatives such as orthodontics, whitening, composite bonding or crowns may be more appropriate.

We'll explore case selection, occlusion, enamel availability, existing restorations, tooth wear, discolouration and managing patient expectations.

Aesthetic Planning, Smile Design & Mock-Ups

Learn how to plan the final result before beginning treatment.

We'll cover clinical records and photography, aesthetic analysis, tooth proportions, incisal edge position, gingival architecture, digital and analogue planning, diagnostic wax-ups and intraoral mock-ups.

You'll also learn how to use the mock-up for patient communication, consent and as a guide for conservative tooth preparation.

Ceramic Selection & Tooth Preparation

Understand how substrate colour, translucency, masking requirements, material thickness and functional demands influence ceramic selection.

We'll then translate the treatment plan into a conservative preparation, covering reduction guides, depth cuts, cervical and proximal margins, incisal design and enamel preservation.

Provisionals, Impressions & Laboratory Communication

Learn how to create and refine provisional veneers while maintaining aesthetics, function and soft tissue health.

We'll also cover tissue management, analogue impressions, digital scanning, shade communication and how to give your dental technician the information required to reproduce the result you've planned.

Try-In, Bonding & Cementation

Develop a repeatable protocol for the try-in and adhesive cementation of porcelain veneers.

We'll simplify isolation, assessment of fit and contacts, try-in pastes, ceramic conditioning, tooth surface treatment, adhesive and cement selection, seating sequence, curing and excess cement removal.

Finishing, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Finally, we'll look at what happens after cementation: occlusal assessment, finishing and polishing, post-operative care and long-term maintenance.

We'll also discuss common complications including sensitivity, debonding, marginal staining, fracture and chipping, and how these can be prevented or managed.

Meet Your Tutors

Dr Ambrish Roshan

Ambrish is a restorative dentist based in Dublin with a particular interest in aesthetic and adhesive dentistry. Alongside clinical practice, he is actively involved in postgraduate dental education and is the founder of Edudental Ireland.

Ambrish is also a Key Opinion Leader for Ivoclar and has extensive experience teaching contemporary restorative workflows and materials.

Dr Michael Crilly

Michael is a restorative and aesthetic dentist based in Belfast with a clinical focus on minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics and composite and ceramic restorations.

Alongside private clinical practice, Michael is heavily involved in postgraduate dental education, delivering hands-on training with an emphasis on making contemporary restorative techniques practical and transferable to everyday dentistry.

Hands-On Training

A significant part of the two days will be dedicated to putting the techniques into practice.

Working on typodonts and models in a small-group environment, you'll have the opportunity to work through the key stages of the veneer workflow with direct guidance from both tutors.

Hands-on sessions will include:

• Aesthetic analysis and treatment planning
• Creating and using silicone preparation guides
• Mock-up techniques
• Controlled veneer preparation and depth reduction
• Incisal, proximal and cervical preparation design
• Fabrication and finishing of provisional veneers
• Gingival retraction and impression techniques
• Digital scanning workflow
• Veneer try-in and assessment
• Ceramic and tooth surface preparation
• Adhesive cementation and seating sequence
• Excess cement removal
• Interproximal finishing and final polishing

The goal is not simply to understand the workflow, but to practise each of the critical stages so you can return to practice with a system you can confidently apply to your own cases.

The Complete Veneer Workflow

Case Selection → Records → Smile Design → Wax-Up → Mock-Up → Preparation → Provisionals → Impression / Scan → Laboratory Communication → Try-In → Bonding → Finishing → Maintenance

Two days designed to bring every stage together into one clear, clinically relevant workflow.
